The Ranges Community Music School was established in 1993 as a joint initiative of the Dandenong Ranges Music Council and Upwey High School Council as a pilot project funded by the Department of Education. Since the beginning of 2009, the Ranges Music School has been managed by the DRMC with the brief to provide high quality, accessible music education programs to the broader community across all ages and skill levels. This includes the instrumental tuition program, opportunities for participation in community events and professional development opportunities for local music professionals.
